Welcome to the
Official CSI Miami interview with -
Ann
Donahue -
Executive Producer
On Horatio in the confessional-
In our very first episode we learn that Horatio Caine has a
very dark secret, which has
formed the man he is and why he is so intent on catching the bad guy.
On
the theme to season 4-
The theme to season four is to peel back our characters and figure out
who they are. We’ve been very fortunate in that we’ve garnered our own
audience, and they’ve come to love our team led by Horatio Caine. After
awhile you want to reward you audience, and
let them know who these people are that show up at these murder
scenes every morning at Miami Beach.
On
“Blood in the Water”-
What we try to do to do to draw the audience in as writers
is to show them something that they can’t get anywhere else. In our second
episode, we have the perfect American family that belong to a yacht club,
and on their yacht in the middle of the ocean they run aground and are
surrounded by sharks. We try to go to that primal moment of what would you
do. Would you jump into the shark-infested waters or stay on a burning ship?
The daughter jumps in and her brother follows her, and then an even bigger
secret about the entire family surfaces, and we find out they’re not really
a family.
On
the mole-
People have asked us
if we know who they mole is, and for
the first fifteen episodes we didn’t know. The writers got in a room, and
for the last ten we planned out and decided who the mole was going to be.
