Welcome to the
Official CSI Miami interview with -
Khandi
Alexander/ Dr. Alexx Woods
“There’s going to be a murder”-
There’s gonna be a murder, and we’re gonna figure it out.
You better watch!
On why she loves her character-
What I find special about my character, and the thing that
drew me to this role, is that she is so loving to the deceased. I like to
think of her as your very last best friend. She is a person that will ensure
you maintain your dignity during death. There will be someone to care for
you, and remember that no matter how you died you
were someone’s mother or father or daughter; I’ve never seen that
before in a coroner. I love her compassion.
On David Caruso’s hair-
He’s not really a red-head. He really has a big Jewish afro,
but it’s straightened and colored. That’s the big secret, but don’t tell
anyone.
On
“Nailed”-
When Jonathan got nailed, that was one of the best episodes, because the
special effects and makeup on this show are top-notch. To work on a show
where these people get to show their extraordinary talent is a joy. As an
actor you want to be in a place where you can put your best foot forward,
but you want everyone to show their extraordinary talent, as well. As an
actor in a scene with another actor who has a big nail sticking out of his
face, oh honey it was a joy. We had a lot of fun with that. But also for him
to have the opportunity to show so many emotions, and my character to tell
him what could happen if he looses his eyesight, which is still up in the
air, was something else.
On her character’s future-
I have been told that there is going to be quite a few left
hooks thrown at my character. She is thrown off balance, and she is
not as confident as she has been in the past. I’m looking forward to
it.
On the blood and gore-
There’s a lot of gore on this show, and personally I love
it. When I got this job I didn’t know how I’d react to it. But, now I’m
like, ‘more blood!’
Snoring
corpse-
We laugh and have such a good time. I was in a scene with
David the other day, in the autopsy, and I’m cutting some guy open and were
in this intense moment and the body starts snoring. And David is like,
‘sorry, are we disturbing you?’ It never stops. We always try to have a good
time in between takes.
