“Yelina Salas” (Sophia Milos)

The widow of Raymond Caine, Columbian-born Detective Yelina Salas now finds herself in the awkward situation of working Homicide with her brother-in-law Horatio and his CSIs.  She is aware of Horatio’s attraction to her, and often tries to steer him into spending more time with her and her son, Raymond Jr. – but Horatio always insists on keeping his distance.

Sofia Milos is best known to television audiences from her roles on The Sopranos, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Caroline in the City, Friends, Mad About You and Thieves.  She also starred in the situation comedies The Secret Lives of Men and Café American.

 Milos began modeling when she was 15 to help pay her way through business and economics school in Switzerland.  However, in 1990 she moved to the United States to pursue an acting career.  After being discovered by television audiences, she was seen in feature films such as Screw Loose, Jane Austen's Mafia!, The Lady's Man and The Order.  Her most recent film, Passionada, earned Milos critical acclaim in the U.S. and abroad.

 Milos was born in Zurich, Switzerland, and was raised in Rome, Italy.  An avid painter, she currently resides in Los Angeles.  Her birth date is Sept. 27.
