Season Three of CSI: Miami

Introduced as part of a regular season episode of the top-rated drama series, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: MIAMI premiered on the CBS Television Network September 23, 2002. The premiere received the highest rating of any network drama in the past eight years and garnered a People’s Choice Award for Best New Drama Series.

A fast-paced forensics drama set against the lush backdrop and pulsing rhythms of the southernmost U.S. metropolis, CSI: MIAMI follows a South Florida team of investigators who use cutting-edge forensics and police work to solve crimes.

Led by Lieutenant Horatio Caine (David Caruso), the Miami-Dade Crime Scene Investigators work amid the steamy, tropical surroundings and cultural crossroads of Miami. Caine, a former bomb squad detective, often relies on a mix of gut instinct and the forensic evidence presented by each case.

The Miami-Dade CSI team also includes Calleigh Duquesne (Emily Procter), a bilingual Southern beauty with a specialty in ballistics; Tim Speedle (Rory Cochrane), a cocky-yet- disarming investigator who is well connected on the street, and Eric Delko (Adam Rodriguez), an underwater recovery expert who knows all the twists and turns of the Florida waterways. Rounding out the team are Alexx Woods (Khandi Alexander), the no-nonsense medical examiner with a special sensitivity for the departed victims, and Lt. Yelina Salas (Sofia Milos), the widow of Horatio’s brother, Raymond.

Together the investigators of CSI: MIAMI collect and analyze the evidence to defend the memory of those who often cannot speak for themselves – the victims.

A drive-by shooting, Miami-style, leaves a ten year-old boy orphaned and puts Salas in the line of fire when Horatio places the boy in her care.

A woman is pushed in front of a moving Metrorail train and both her boyfriend and his stalker ex-girlfriend are suspected of her murder. Calleigh Duquesne’s father’s latest bender might make him a hit-and-run killer.

A flash mob erupts on a private golf course – were the students there to hide a body . . . or leave one?

Miami’s club scene turns deadly when underage drinking sparks a bloody murder in a bathroom stall.

A jury field trip to the scene of a murder flips the legal tables when the defendant ends up dead and the twelve jurors become the prime suspects.

Miami Beach is evacuated for an approaching tsunami, but the CSI team remains after discovering a bank robbery plot while investigating a seemingly random murder.

A “Speed Dating” night for Miami singles turns deadly for one South Beach stud who finds himself on the wrong end of a tire iron.

Episode 9: Pirated

A string of dead bodies, found off the coast of Miami, turns out to be the work of modern-day pirates.

Episode 10: After the Fall

An innocent man is killed when someone falls on him from a third floor balcony and finding out how it happened leads the CSI team into the center of a high-level sex and murder scandal.

Episode 11: Addiction

A seemingly random carjacking turns out to be anything but when a young woman’s gambling addiction becomes more than the family business can support.

Episode 12: Shoot Out

A hospital emergency room shootout investigation puts the CSI team in the middle of a murder case involving the leader of a prominent street gang.

Episode 13: Cop Killer

A routine traffic stop ends in the senseless murder of a patrolman, and the CSI team must sort out a young girl’s obsessive love affair in order to find the killer.

Episode 14: One Night Stand

A “Friction Party” at a private suite in one of the city’s hotels accommodating hundreds of cruise passengers leaves a young woman dead, and means the CSI team must work fast, before the killer escapes onboard one of the many cruise ships leaving the harbor each day.

Episode 15: Identity

Horatio Caine faces a former nemesis who escaped his grasp once before, and a case of stolen identity leads to murder, but the question becomes “which one did it?”

Episode 16: Nothing To Loose

Florida’s gator and snake-infested Everglades becomes ground zero for a number of unrelated murders just as fires engulf the rare eco-system; Alexx is taken hostage by a desperate killer with nothing to lose.

When a small jet crashes into a residential neighborhood, the wreckage of the charter plane reveals a corpse in the plane’s cargo hold, along with a half-million dollars in cash.
