CSI: Miami

Alexx Woods” (Khandi Alexander)

After seeing one too many surgeons lose patients to “complications,” Alexx took a job asMedical Examiner to catch any cover-ups, and to speak for the victims who had lost their own voice in death.  Alexx listens carefully to what their bodies “say” to help bring their killers to justice.  She is meticulous in her work, and is frequently accused of being compulsively tidy by her husband and two sons.   During Season Three, Alexx was kidnapped by a ruthless killer, yet it was the life of a child also in the killer’s custody that motivated nothing less than heroic action on her part.  Though she spends less time in the field than the other CSIs, Alexx is no less crucial to the CSI team’s success.

Alexx continues to be the caring “last contact” for all who enter and exit her Autopsy Theater.  Season Four found Alexx privy to some of the secrets of her CSI colleagues, including the ongoing impact of Wolfe’s eye injury and Delko’s personal life.  It is, perhaps, her keen perceptive abilities and complete loyalty that make her the perfect confidante.  Her world was rocked when she openly campaigned to have a convicted sex offender moved out of her neighborhood, and the man was subsequently murdered.  While Alexx’s life seems copasetic as Season Five begins, her world will once again be shaken by the dramatic events awaiting her as the season unfolds.
