CSI: Miami
Season 5 -
Episode 1 - Rio
Written by Sunil Nayar

Horatio and Delko touch down on
Brazilian soil, hoping to extradite Antonio Riaz back
to Miami for Marisol’s murder.
Due to a legal technicality, they watch as Riaz drives off a free
man. Horatio pays a visit to
his brother Ray, now living in Brazil with Yelina and Ray Jr.
Yelina tells Horatio she suspect
that Ray might be using drugs again.
Ray Jr. gets upset with his mom for her lack of faith in his
father.
Calleigh
sends and Natalia to investigate the murder of Hillary Silvers.
Wolfe considers Hillary’s soon-to-be-ex husband Carl a suspect
and takes him in for questioning.
After Natalia tells Hillary’s son, Scott Stalin, that “they will
get the guy,” Stalin shoots and kills Silvers, just as a housepainter
working at Hillary’s house confesses to her murder.
Horatio
and Delko learn that Ray Jr. and two other boys are acting as “mules,”
carrying heroin pellets to
Miami
for Riaz. Riaz and Delko
have a scuffle and Riaz pulls a knife on Delko.
Horatio comes just in time and kills Riaz.
Back in Miami, Delko and Horatio
find Ana, the woman who escorted Ray Jr. and the other boys to the U.S.
She’s in shock, standing over the body of one of the fourteen
year-old boys who lies gutted on the floor.
Stalin’s
lawyer informs Calleigh that Stalin is pleading insanity because of
Natalia’s remark. Calleigh
questions Stalin about his trip to the Keys and the stolen gun that he
used to kill Silvers. Stalin
admits the murder of Silvers was premeditated, thus spoiling his
insanity plea.
Ray
Jr. saves the life of another “mule” whose heroin pellet had started
leaking inside his body – a boy named Pablo – by getting him to the
hospital just in time.
Horatio finds Ray Jr. at the train station, holding a gun to Matos, the
Miami
drug dealer who was receiving the shipment.
Horatio convinces Ray Jr to drop the gun.
Matos shoots, but Horatio shields Ray Jr. and takes a bullet in
his Kevlar vest, and sends a bullet straight through Matos’s heart.
Horatio encourages Yelina to stay in
Miami where she has family.
