Written by

Horatio
questions “wannabe” soldiers Derrick Perry and Matthew Batra as they
stand in a faux Iraqi military playground over Marine recruiter Sergeant
Timothy Hicks’ dead body.
Matthew was playing the insurgent and Derrick the soldier.
Matthew defends Derrick saying it was an accident. They didn’t
notice Sergeant Hicks until he was dead.
Detective Tripp points out five bullet holes in Sergeant Hicks’
body … but no blood.
Alexx
determines that Hicks’ died from a blow to the head; his hands were
bound, and he was dragged.
Natalia finds Sergeant Sean Reynolds’ fingerprints on Hicks’ name plate.
Sergeant Reynolds tells Wolfe and Delko that Hicks received an
anonymous threatening letter and he was trying to calm Hicks down.
Calleigh discovers Marine Corporal Kevin Kirby’s saliva on the
letter’s envelope and Ketamine, an animal tranquilizer, in Hicks’ nose.
Hicks’ widow, veterinarian Donna Hicks explains to Calleigh and
Wolfe that Hicks’ needed the mild sedative after their home was broken
into and Marine recruitment applications were stolen.
Horatio
visits Corporal Kevin Kirby at his brother, Patrick Kirby’s, military
funeral. Kevin admits to sending
Hicks the letter but claims he didn’t kill him.
Kevin blames himself for Patrick’s brutal death in Fallujah.
Matthew and Derrick confess to stealing the recruitment forms.
Matthew tells Calleigh he confronted and pushed Hicks after
discovering he was denied enlistment because his Middle Eastern parents
are on the U.S. Terrorist Watch List.
Matthew is arrested and so is Kevin Kirby.
Alexx finds auto shrapnel and civilian supplier Brad Hoffman’s
hair while examining Patrick Kirby’s body.
Hoffman
denies ever being in Iraq,
but a soldier’s home video showing Hoffman’s
Florida
license plates in Fallujah discredits his lie.
Horatio arrests Hoffman for Patrick’s murder.
Kevin is freed.
