Horatio interviews prostitute Anna Sivarro, found in a Miami Beach cabana, wearing business mogul Doug Lansing’s blood on her clothes.  Lansing’s lifeless body is nearby.  Anna doesn’t remember anything.

Alexx discovers Lansing’s scalp has been sheered off, just like in the old western movies.  Wolfe finds the bloody, fleshy scalp in Lansing’s hotel suite while Delko discovers a hypnotic drug, benzodiazepine, in the leftover room-service sandwiches.  Calleigh questions room service waiter Jesse Stark about the sandwiches.  Stark explains the whole kitchen staff had access to the sandwiches.  Natalia removes County Supervisor Scott O’Shay’s lapel pin from Lansing’s trouser pocket.  A smug O’Shay tells Horatio that Lansing was one of his campaign contributors and he knows nothing about Lansing’s murder.  Horatio is not convinced.

Calleigh and Delko question hotel bellman Ross Miller after discovering his fingerprints in Lansing’s mini bar and benzodiazepine in Miller’s bell stand box.  Miller explains the drug is to help him control seizures.  Calleigh and Delko find a bag full of cash in the trunk of Miller’s car.  Miller confesses to drugging Anna and Lansing and stealing Lansing’s money ... but not to murder.  Detective Tripp tells Horatio that O’Shay and Lansing were using their political clout to extract money from the nearby Indian Casinos.

Alexx discovers a shard from an antique Indian knife in Lansing’s scalp.  Wolfe questions Indian Casino owners Reggie and Adrienne Veston about the weapon.  The Vestons deny knowing anything about the knife but voice their hatred of Lansing and Scott O’Shay.   A short time later, Calleigh and Delko watch as the medical examiner’s staff put Reggie Veston’s murdered body in a bag.

Wolfe traces the shard to hotel room service waiter Jesse Stark, a Native American.  Jesse admits that he killed Lansing after finding him drugged -- for ancestral revenge -- while in a seemingly unrelated turn of events, Adrienne killed Reggie after learning he was  sleeping with Anna.
