Season Five of CSI: Miami begins with one of the most exciting backdrops ever filmed on the series. Horatio and Delko find themselves traveling to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in pursuit of the man behind Marisol Delko Caine’s murder. When they arrive there, they are shocked to learn that Horatio’s brother Ray, and nephew Ray, Jr., are mixed up in the nefarious international criminal’s heinous activities. Before they leave Brazil, characters living on each side of the law will die, and the drug lord’s business will continue in Miami, putting Ray Jr.’s life in dire jeopardy.

During Horatio’s time in Brazil, Calleigh is in charge of the CSI team, and finds herself in the precarious position of defending Natalia Boa Vista’s appointment to the team, against protestations from other members of the department. Natalia’s troubles are compounded when her abusive ex-husband returns in an attempt to win her back. Within weeks, Natalia and Valera find themselves at the center of a murder investigation when Natalia’s ex-husband is killed and it is learned that Valera had been dating him.

Upon returning from Brazil, Horatio and Delko have a stronger bond than ever, borne out of avenging Marisol’s murder together. When Horatio’s old nemesis Clavo Cruz escapes from prison, Delko is shot in the head while in pursuit. His life hangs in the balance as, once again, Horatio swears to bring those responsible to justice. As Delko lies near death, the entire CSI team faces a future without one of their own.

During Season Five, each member of the team faces their own life-threatening calamities, each time bringing the team closer together for living through them. Alexx is caught in the crossfire of a rocket explosion while at the courthouse to testify, and is nearly killed by the blast. Calleigh is targeted for death when a suspect fears that her work on a case will bring them down, and Tripp finds himself standing on an active land mine on one of Miami’s beaches while working a case. One false move will cost him his life. After ending his relationship with an opportunistic news reporter, Wolfe finds himself going back to her for help ... this time at Horatio Caine’s urging

With a particularly soft spot for children whose lives are torn apart by the crimes they have nothing to do with, Horatio Caine always makes a priority of the city’s youngest and most fragile victims. Whether a young girl whose mother’s gold-digging ways put the child into sexually abusive situations, or teenaged boys acting as international drug mules, Caine’s passion at bringing about justice and safety for Miami’s young knows no boundaries.

Each thrilling episode of Season Five is filled with the same twists and turns that keep the CSI team working at peak form in order to speak for Miami’s victims who can no longer speak for themselves.

Horatio and Delko travel to Rio de Janeiro to hunt down the man who killed Marisol Caine, Horatio’s new bride and Delko’s sister. While there, Caine learns that both his brother Ray and Ray’s son, Ray Jr., are involved in an international drug ring operating out of the city’s dangerous favellas.

Episode 2: Going Under

Calleigh is run off the road while investigating a motorcycle gang’s illegal gun smuggling operation, during which Horatio and his team discover the gang’s secret weapon … a gun that can shoot around corners.

The team uncovers an offshore counterfeiting operation while investigating the murder of a celebrity whose death means big bucks for those betting on her demise in a twisted game of money and murder.

Episode 4: If Looks Could Kill

The team is drawn into a world where looks are everything when high-fashion modeling suddenly becomes the deadliest occupation in Miami. Natalia gets a surprise visit from her ex-husband.

The CSI team mix community service and investigative crime fighting when a city councilman’s dead body is found in an enviable waterfront neighborhood, where the team must link the murder of a young girl to the dead councilman, a dubious developer and a scandalous judge.
